Greg Schoener
Founder
Greg Schoener, a seasoned professional in sourcing and marketing building materials, embarked on a new journey in 2006 when he sold his stake in a building supply company. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to other business ventures, and in 2008, he founded GWS Services. Leveraging his extensive background in materials, Greg introduced a novel approach that gave his company a competitive edge in the market.
Under Greg’s astute leadership, GWS Services earned an enviable reputation, becoming one of the largest volume masonry and stucco subcontractors. Recognizing the right time to exit, Greg strategically sold GWS Services in 2020. However, when the buyers exited the market, he saw an opportunity to reenter the industry. In September 2021, he founded Axis Masonry and Stucco with the key employees from GWS Services, ensuring a smooth transition and continuation of GWS Services’ legacy.
Greg’s vision and unwavering commitment have been instrumental in the company’s resilience and growth. His vast experience and leadership in Healthcare, Construction, and Real Estate Development have positioned Axis Masonry and Stucco to cater to the burgeoning commercial construction market in Texas. The company is committed to delivering exceptional quality and service to its clients, living up to its reputation.
Trey McDaniel
Estimator and Project Manager
Philip “Trey” McDaniel has over 18 years of experience in residential and commercial construction, specializing in most masonry systems. He helps provide strategic leadership, support, and management to help facilitate the successful completion of projects on time and on or under budget while ensuring that Axis Masonry and Stucco consistently exceed clients’ expectations. Trey takes pride in building strong relationships with clients and team members.
Mike Lowery
Estimator and Project Manager
Mike Lowery, with over 5 years of experience in commercial construction/masonry, excels as a project manager and estimator. He coordinates closely with general contractors, architects/owners, and field personnel to ensure masonry scopes align with guidelines and specifications. Through diligent work with field personnel, he implements quality controls and standards, exceeding client expectations on every project.
Kolbey Schoener
Project Manager
Kolbey Schoener is a Texas State University Cum Laude Graduate with over 5 years of Construction Experience. After 4 years of working in the Concrete Industry, Kolbey transitioned his Project Manager experience to Axis Masonry. Kolbey is responsible for the Submittal, Crew Scheduling, Material Purchasing, Equipment Scheduling, and overall budget management of projects by optimizing resources and maintaining high-quality standards
Bailey Williams
bid and project coordinator
Bailey has 8 years of experience in the construction industry. In her capacity as Bid Coordinator, Bailey handles bid requests, oversees the bid calendar, and manages the distribution and tracking of estimates. In her role as Project Coordinator, Bailey collaborates closely with our Project Managers, facilitating coordination of submittals, POs, subcontractor paperwork, and payments. Bailey has 7 years of experience in the construction industry.
Genaro Guerrero
Senior Field Superintendent
Genaro Guerrero is a second-generation mason and a Houston native with over 43 years of masonry experience. He is responsible for ensuring on-time materials delivery for all jobs, safe field operations, quality control, team execution on-site, and exceptional craftsmanship in every job.
Carlos Fierros
Field Superintendent
Carlos Fierros brings more than 8 years of experience as a superintendent in commercial and residential masonry applications, along with 4 years of concrete work. Carlos works with team members to ensure field work is performed safely, on time, and in accordance with plan specifications.
Phillip Luttrell
Estimator
Phillip Luttrell has 55 years of experience in the construction industry and extensive hands-on experience. He spent 35 years installing lath and plaster, and for the past 20 years, he has focused on estimating and managing masonry and stucco.
Kelly Woomer

Kelly Woomer has over 37 years of experience in Office Management, including 28 years in Oil and Gas and 9 years in Construction. Her expertise encompasses office management, contract administration, accounting, payroll, and benefits.
Tim Jordan
SALES PARTNER
Tim manages the sales effort for the multi-family side of Axis Masonry & Stucco’s business. He has 15 years of experience in the industry and, through his company, The Jordan Group, leans on an extensive network of owners, developers, and general contractors to open doors and develop meaningful, long-term relationships that translate into ongoing sales for the company.
